A New Kind of CIO

Today’s business environment is the toughest it has been in decades. Main Street has lost respect for corporate America. Corporations and banks lost track of the principles that govern them. Greed and short-term financial results became the acceptable way of doing business. The future will be different.

As we emerge from the meltdown, companies will be looking for new types of executives that play a significant role in operations. As a CIO, you can and should be on the front lines leading with other chief executives.

  1. Learn to set a clear direction and execute.
  2. Learn the importance of analyzing your decisions and its impact on long-term results.
  3. Learn to commit to your company’s vision and integrate the concepts into your decisions.
  4. Learn to listen to everyone.
